On this historic day, I should be met with embraces and congratulations, but all I receive is silence.

Today is my birthday and despite the excitement I used to feel on this day, I find myself alone and without a message of congratulations. The question that is on my mind is: why is no one wishing me a happy birthday?

Looking in the mirror, I begin to doubt myself. Is my appearance alienating others? Insecurity takes over and makes me feel even more isolated. However, on reflection, I realize that beauty is subjective. Maybe it’s not just about me, but about the circumstances of each person’s life.

The truth is that we all face difficult times and busyness that can cloud our relationships. Maybe my friends are caught up in their own worlds and didn’t notice the date.

Instead of letting sadness consume me, I choose to remember that even though I didn’t receive any wishes this year, that doesn’t define my worth. Every year is an opportunity to grow and surround myself with those who truly matter. The key is to be kind to myself and not let one day make me feel less than. After all, every birthday is a new opportunity to start over.
