I’m celebrating my birthday today, but I haven’t yet been blessed.

For 17 long and beautiful years, Juliet had her soulmate, a fellow dachshund named Romeo, by her side. Now, Juliet can often be found cuddling her new plush friend, laying her head on it or draping her tiny body over it, just as she once did with her true love.

As Juliet approaches her 18th birthday, this milestone is more special than ever. Despite the sadness of losing Romeo, Juliet is surrounded by love and care at the rescue, and her stuffed dachshund has become a symbol of resilience and the comfort that can be found even after the most profound loss.
