Rescued from the Corpus Christi Animal Control in Texas, Serenity’s plight stole the hearts of many. The young puppy was wheeled in on a cart, her tiny body covered in motor oil, a tragic result of her previous owners’ neglect and abuse. Surrendered in a state of extreme suffering, Serenity was also diagnosed with the all-too-common and often fatal parvovirus.

Despite her sad face and seemingly hopeless situation, Serenity’s story quickly spread across social media, capturing the attention and concern of animal lovers far and wide. Among them was Destiny’s Road Animal Rescue, located in Three Rivers, Massachusetts. Moved by Serenity’s dire condition and unwavering spirit, the rescue organization stepped in to help.

Too weak to stand or walk, Serenity was immediately transferred to Callaghan Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, where she began receiving the intensive care she desperately needed. Her condition was serious, but the dedicated team of veterinarians and caregivers were determined to give her the best chance at survival.
